Senior Manager - Lending (US Mortgage)

The Lending Sr. Managers works on exceptional scenarios and extensive production activities pertaining to Lending process. Conducts daily huddles that cover the findings from quality team and the updates received from the onshore team/ client. Review process guidelines and providing insight/ updates/changes to the team. Responsible for performance, rating, and training of the team.


The Sr. Manager – Lending is responsible for guiding and developing our team of Loan Technicians, Processors, Underwriters and Post closers to deliver exceptional lending experience that result in long-term, profitable relationships. This role works collaboratively with other group members spread across locations in US and India.

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in the analysis, underwriting, and approval of complex and high-value credit relationships to ensure alignment with risk standards and firm’s objectives.
  • Set and promote accountability for each team members by establishing and managing goals aligned with firm’s strategic objectives.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports to foster professional development, growth opportunities, and high-performance achievement within the team.
  • Ensure continuous process improvement and operational efficiency across the Lending value chain
  • Organize and conduct regular meetings with direct reports, and actively participate in Line of Business (LOB) meetings to ensure cohesive execution of strategies.
  • Provide recommendations on employment decisions including performance ratings, salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and terminations for team members.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration across the firm’s business lines, ensuring alignment with overall firm objectives.
  • Monitor and stay informed about local, state, and federal regulatory changes that impact the lending sector, ensuring compliance.
  • Oversee the team’s adherence to the annual budget, collaborating with other Department and Division Managers to ensure resource optimization.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in US Mortgage lending domain
  • Proven ability to manage high-performing teams, including experience at the division level or managing multiple departments, ideally within a matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex financial concepts to a diverse audience.
  • High emotional and cultural intelligence, with an ability to engage and manage diverse teams and clients.
  • Talent management expertise, including skills in developing, mentoring, and retaining team members.
  • Flexible working in US Shifts and occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
  • TRID experience preferred
  • Experience with Ellie Mae Encompass LOS preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of mortgage lending practices and regulations preferred
  • Ability to process high volume, time-sensitive transactions preferred
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Able to perform a variety of mortgage-related functions, while maintaining composure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manners
